Home Information...

This general information about your accommodation will hopefully help make your arrival and stay a little easier.

Check-in is at 17:00.

We will do our best to beat this and our friendly houskeeper will send you a text as soon as the cottage is ready for you to start enjoying.

Check-out is 11:00, we run at a high occupancy rate so sadly it is difficult to accommodate late check-out requests.

Please leave the front door key back in the key safe and the spare key on the coat-hook in the hallway.

Please empty the bins and place the waste in the designated area.

Please run the final used items through the dishwasher.

It would be highly appreciated if you strip the beds leaving the linen in the bathroom.

The front door key can be found in the key safe attached building to the left of the front door - the code is in the body of the welcome email.

There is a second front key on the coat-hooks in the hallway.

Only the top locks are used for both front and back doors, for safety reasons, when in the property, we recommend you leave the key in the lock in the event a fast exit is required.

On check-out, please leave the keys as you found them.

There is parking for one car adjacent to the cottage.

Drive is down Winkle Street and you will see a small courtyard on your right, drive in to the courtyard (its a tight turn) and park at 45 degrees (next to the bins).

If you have more than one vehicle, please park as tightly as you can to ensure the neighbours access is not restricted.

Together with a well stocked welcome basket, we provide for your convenience:

  • Nespresso capsules
  • Assortment of tea bags
  • Muesli
  • Fruit & Fibre
  • Sugar & sweeteners
  • Biscoff biscuits
  • Olive oil
  • Salt & Pepper grinders

There are Alexa speakers in the house, you can use voice commands to play music, set alarms etc.

The Alexa speaker in the sitting room also controls the lamp, use the following commands:

"Alexa (small pause), switch on (off) the Monkey Lamp"

The first section of the rear garden  is yours to use, please bear with us as this was very overgrown and we are in the in the process of getting this in to shape.

The upper section, not for guest use, we leave to be "wild" for the benefit of native species, for those guests with small children please note that there is a small pond in that area so please don't allow them to "explore" unsupervised.

In summer months the garden is usually  maintained on a Tuesday, no access is required inside the cottage and hopefully not too inconvienent.

If you need to store bikes, please let us know and access to a garden shed can be arranged.

Sorry, no smoking inside the property.

-- please dispose of cigarette butts responsibly --

Bins - If you need to empty the bins, the main bins are in the courtyard,  the black is general and green is recycling.

Recycling - the Island has good recycling facilities, the mixed recycling bin is under the counter with a label showing what you can recycle.  Food waste should go in the general bin.

Tuesday - is "bin day" if you could you put the correct bin on the bank of the river in front of the neighbours parking.

Housekeeping will leave a note to let you know if it's the green or black bin day during your stay.

Paw on Floors - we are pet friendly but kindly request they are not on any furniture.

Living area - we prefer furry friends to be contained to the living area, if this causes stress to you or your pet, please take measures to protect the carpets / rugs and especially the bedding*.

Business trips - please clean up after your dog after "business trips" in the garden.

Control - please keep your dog under control, we can't guarantee the boundary to be 100% secure, so please supervise your furry friends when in the garden.

There are ducks (overly tame!) and herons walking freely by the stream, please restrain your pet if necessary.

Home alone - please do not leave pets unattended in the property.

Pet hair - we do not charge extra for your pet so respectfully ask you to vacuum all pet hairs before leaving.
